Our Philosophy

At My Mother Land, we are a community of passionate individuals who share an unyielding belief in the fundamental right of every child to access education, regardless of their socioeconomic background. We wholeheartedly recognize that education is not just an investment but the very cornerstone upon which vibrant communities and promising futures are built. Our vision for the children we serve transcends the ordinary; we aspire for them to know themselves deeply and to explore the boundless realm of creative thinking.

In these young hearts, we harbor the hope for our shared tomorrow, for today’s children are the architects of the world yet to be. We live by the African philosophy of Ubuntu, understanding that “I am because we are.” Thus, we extend our unwavering support to as many children as possible, with the knowledge that no one amongst us is greater than the other. How we carry ourselves exemplifies the Ubuntu spirit.

We encourage a spirit of daring and boldness among our students, nurturing them to embrace calculated risks and to perceive change as a driving force. We firmly believe that today’s education should prepare students for a dynamic, ever-evolving world, teaching not just from the past but for the future.

Underpinning all our actions is the essence of togetherness. Rooted in our mission, vision, and values, this togetherness inspires us to stand as one in our pursuit of shaping better futures. We steadfastly hold that education is an enduring investment in the well-being of our society.

We, at My Mother Land, have an unwavering embrace for change, recognizing its transformative power and accepting its mantle as a shared responsibility. In the symphony of our unity, we work tirelessly to pave the way for Zimbabwe’s future generations. In our manifesto, we find our purpose, our promise, and our pathway.

Together, we shall forge a My Mother Land where each child’s dreams are cherished, where their imaginations know no boundaries, and where compassionate education paves the road to a society that thrives on equity. This manifesto is our pledge, our commitment, and our testament. Zimbabwe, our cherished Mother Land, shall radiate even more brightly as we march resolutely towards a future without constraints.

Vision

Our Values

Our core values revolve around Ubuntu, a philosophy encapsulating the belief that “I am because we are.” This underscores the profound importance of community, extending its reach beyond immediate networks to connect all of humanity. We also embrace

Non-Sibi, advocating for action that benefits not just the self but everyone, recognizing that we each play a part in paving the way for the next generation. Our commitment to holistic education prepares students for independence at various stages of life.

Ubuntu

This African philosophy means “I am because we are.” This philosophy encapsulates our core belief in the power of community. We believe the power of community extends beyond the support of our immediate network and has the capacity to connect all networks. This transcendence is made possible through the acceptance of Non-Sibi.

Non-Sibi

Asserts that we take action not only for ourselves but for ALL. Keeping this at the core of our daily lives grants us a perspective that is rooted and steeped in the dual power of the individual and their community. Each plays a role in paving the way for the next generation.

Holistic Education

We believe that education throughout one’s life should be broad enough to bridge the various milestones of our lifespan in preparation for independence.

Confident.Open.Brave.

We want students to be open to opportunities presented to them and have the courage to think outside the box.
